Comparison of Condensation Silicone and Addition Silicone

Wed Jul 23 11:38:45 CST 2014

Two-component condensation type RTV silicone rubber is the most common type of silicone rubber that vulcanizes at room temperature, the raw rubber is usually the hydroxyl-terminated poly dimethyl siloxane, hereinafter referred to as RTV-2. Various grades of rubber at room temperature in the raw rubber is obtained by adding different types and quantities of reinforcing fillers and other additives. It is usually divided into two components when filtering, one of the components is rubber, and the other group is the catalyst, the crosslinking agent, and other catalysts. When the colloid and curing agent react under the action of catalyst, this active group is condensed, prolepses small molecules, and perform cross-linked cured. While, the based glue of two-component addition cure RTV silicone rubber mainly contain two or more poly vinyl diorganosiloxane, and glue is one of the most important foundation. Addition type silicone rubber is crosslinked by the addition reaction of ethylene double bond of silicon, and no small molecules produced in the reaction process.
